Stolen Strategies
things that have been translated into code.
images must be split into inspiration and outcome.
real thing on the left, coded thing on the right.
(if you don’t stick to these rules, you’ll be kicked out, sorry)
nature, architecture, and other things we see in our real environment are terribly inspiring.
quite often we seek to understand things, processes and structures we observe, and rebuild what we found by encoding the rules we think it’s made from.
the image of your inspiration does not have to be something “real” it can also be abstract, as long as you can picture it and one can see a visual connection to the output you created with code. it does not need to be a natural or manmade thing, as long as it shows your effort to create something that closely relates to something existing we may have seen before.
if you have been inspired by something an tried to rebuild it, great !
if you just coded something up and figured out later that what emerged from it really looks like something you’ve seen before, that’s fine too.
